Funding Bootcamp: digital innovation hubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina are ready for European, regional and domestic funds

Representatives of digital innovation hubs attended a three-day training entitled Funding Bootcamp that was held by CIVITTA – a leading management consulting company from Central and East Europe, and organised by GIZ in the framework of the project Innovation and Digitalisation in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU4DigitalSME, that is co-funded by the European Union and Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. During the training, they learned about public call procedures for European funds and the preparation of successful projects.

The training particularly focused on the programme Horizon Europe and offered information about financing lines in the framework of this programme. The participants learned about the key steps – project preparation, project writing, project management and implementation. The experts shared extremely valuable practical experiences.

On the last day of the training, representatives of the European Integration Directorate in Bosnia and Herzegovina and EBRD gave an excellent insight in the planned public calls for project proposals and presented the advantages of the use of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and the future call – Innovation Voucher Scheme (IVS) that will enable small and medium-sized enterprises to apply together with service providers from the academia and hubs with projects that will solve digitalisation and innovation issues in their business operations.

Fourteen participants from four hubs or nine partner organisations within the hubs were delighted with the trainers and a transparent presentation of the topic and personal experience in writing of a large number of projects, and the participants assessed the topic of the training as extremely important for further operations and sustainability of hubs.

Its4Health and Digital Storm hubs from Sarajevo, Idemo hub from Banja Luke and Industrial hub from Tuzla will prepare projects for the public calls of European funds with the support of experts from CIVITTA.

The Funding Bootcamp  is one of trainings offered to hubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina over the past year by the consultancy firm CIVITTA from Estonia with their experts in addition to meetings with mentor hubs from the region, Slovenia, Serbia and Rumania. This is a continuation of inclusion of hubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina in European digitalisation trends in the framework of the project Innovation and Digitalisation in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU4DigitalSME.
