The first Digital Innovation Hub Forum (1st DIH Forum – SME Digitalisation) focusing on the digitalisation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), will be held at Meeting Point in Sarajevo on June 3, 2023. The DIH Forum 2023 is organised by Fab Lab Sarajevo in coordination with the companies QSS and Digital Storm, and supported by the project ”Innovation and Digitalisation in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU4DigitalSME”. It will offer a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs to hear about the latest digital innovation trends and learn about the key aspects of the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Forum aims to make SMEs also acquainted with the best digital transformation practices and enable them to learn how technology is fundamentally changing the way in which companies interact with customers and generate income from new sources and access to digitalisation.

The Forum will be opened by Stefano Ellero, the Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation, Edin Škaljić, entrepreneur and the founder of the DIH Digital Storm and Gian Mario Maggio, the Executive Director of EIT Manufacturing. It will be followed by a presentation of robots, lectures and presentations about specific funding opportunities, such as the SME Voucher Scheme of the project ”Innovation and Digitalisation in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU4DigitalSME” and the European Reconstruction and Development Bank (EBRD), which will help SMEs achieve their digital goals and a competitive advantage.   

Eva Näher, Project Manager of the project ”Innovation and Digitalisation in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU4DigitalSME”, will also hold a speech on behalf of GIZ. The panel discussion will gather DIHs from Bosnia and Herzegovina supported by the project that will present their innovative ideas at stalls during the ”Market Fair” event that will be held at the same time in Skenderija.

Another panel discussion will focus on the best practices in the field of digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises. The panelists, representatives of European DIHs: PTP EDIH – Pomurje Technological Park, DIZ EDIH – Digital Innovation Zone, FIT EDIH – Future of Innovation Zone, which are also mentor DIHs of Bosnian and Herzegovinian DIHs ”IDEMO”, ”Its4Health” and ”Digital Storm”, will speak about the best models in the European Union. A Q&A session and B2B networking will follow after the panel discussion.

In addition to excellent speakers, the DIH Forum 2023 will also provide an opportunity for networking and exchange of experiences between entrepreneurs. This is an ideal occasion to obtain valuable information about the latest trends and technologies that will support the growth and development of business operations in a digital environment.

The DIH Forum 2023 is supported by the project ”Innovation and Digitalisation in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina” that is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Government (BMZ). The project aims to support the development of economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special focus on the digital transformation of business operations. The project is co-funded by the European Union (EU) in the framework of the project EU4DigitalSME.
