Networking between a hub from Bosnia and Herzegovina and a technological park in Slovenia

In the framework of the EU4DigitalSME project, which is co-financed by the EU and the Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ), and implemented by GIZ, a delegation from the digital innovation hub (DIH) IDEMO from Banja Luka visited the Technological Park Pomurje (PTP) in Murska Sobota, Slovenia, in order to network and cooperate.

The visit took place from February 15 to 17, 2023 and it formalised the relations between the two DIHs. They will also officially sign a special cooperation agreement according to which PTP will mentor (DIH) IDEMO. As a result of the cooperation, the two DIHs will jointly organise activities that support the digitalisation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), but also jointly apply for calls for project proposals in the future.

During the visit, the delegation was able to learn about the work methods and instruments that PTP uses in its work with SMEs in the field of smart industry and access to financing of digitalisation projects in production companies. They also visited companies in the metal industry and agriculture that have digitalised certain work processes with the assistance of PTP. Users of the PTP incubator presented innovative products they offer for various industries.

The delegation of the digital innovation hub (DIH) IDEMO from Banja Luka consisted of its members and representatives: the Innovation Centre Banja Luka, the Development Agency of Republika Srpska (RARS), the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Banja Luka and the Development Agency EDA Banja Luka.

The establishment and support to the development of DIH services is one of the key activities of the EU4DigitalSME project in order to contribute to the establishment of an ecosystem for digitalisation, automation and innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The value of the EU4DigitalSME project amounts to 6.1 million EUR.
