Digital innovation hubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina visited the leading global fair of smart automation and robotics – Automatica 2023
The project ”Innovation and Digitalisation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU4DigitalSME” that is co-funded by the European Union and the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH organised a visit of digital innovation hubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina to one of the largest global automation and robotics fairs entitled ”Automatica” in Munich (Germany).
”Automatica” is organised every two years and constitutes an ideal opportunity for a constructive and visionary exchange between representatives of the industry, researchers and the public sector. The event gathers 45,000 visitors and gives them access to the largest global assortment of industrial and service robotics, industrial assembly solutions, machine vision systems and components in all these areas. Innovation, know-how and trends presented at this event largely serve the purpose of presenting the possibility to produce products of an even higher quality in a more efficient manner.
The fair ”Automatica” took place in the period from June 26 to 30 of this year, and in addition to automation and robotics, the event was also a host platform for two additional events – Laser – the World of Photonics and the World of Quantum Technology. In addition to the exhibition, a series of interesting discussions about digitalisation, artificial intelligence, future jobs and sustainable production were held.
During the fair visit, the representatives of digital innovation hubs Digital Storm from Sarajevo and Industrial HUB from Tuzla held various meetings with current and potential partners from the industry, research centre and scientific communities from the EU. A particularly valuable experience was the visit of representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Strascheg Centre for Entrepreneurship (SCE) that included a workshop with the representatives of this centre and EIT Manufacture Central Hub in relation to potential future cooperation.
The project ”Innovation and Digitalisation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU4DigitalSME” will continue organising such visits and activities for digital innovation hubs in the future. Such activities are always focused on networking with the relevant partners in the EU and the establishment of all forms of cooperation..
